It can also be a virtue representing human kindness,compassion, and affection—"the unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another".

 It may also describe compassionate and affectionate actions towards other humans, one's self or animals.

Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyalty through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses.

Love is when you take away the passion, feeling and romance in a relationship and you find out you still care for person.
